Fargo Central and Fargo North Class of 1966
60 Year Class Reunion

It's hard to believe that it's been 60 years since the roof collapsed and the school burned. And we graduated. The Reunion Committee has been meeting to plan a joint reunion, and we think we've got it worked out. Mostly.

This reunion is going to be very simple, mostly 3 days of meeting with old (really old) classmates. No band, no fancy banquet. Just us. The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, August 12, 11:30-2 pm, Holiday Inn, Detroit Lakes. Lunch with the Fargo Central High School Alumni Association. This is a monthly event, with all classes invited. Lunch is on you. Cash bar.

Thursday, August 13, 3-7 pm, CJ's at Rose Creek Golf Course 1500 E Rose Creek Parkway S, Fargo. A taco bar will be set up from 3:30-6:30 pm. Cash bar. Anyone who wants to golf can set up a tee time by calling the Rose Creek Golf Course at 701-235-5100 - the sooner the better, as it is a popular course.

Friday, August 14, 11 am-3 pm, Porter Creek Restaurant 4400 15th Ave S, Fargo. A sandwich bar will be set up from 11:30-3:00. Cash bar.

That's it. Nothing fancy or complicated. If you want more, you're welcome to plan it! There are about 50 hotels/motels in the FM area, and lots of Airbnb places, all available online. Pick one or camp out. Many great local restaurants would love to have you come for dinner with your besties. We did not plan any evening dinners precisely for that reason. That, and we crash early these days.

The Fargo Forum has expressed an interest in sending a reporter to interview people about the fire and the roof collapse. There's a wonderful video of Fargo from Patti Corwin (Class of '64) that we're going to have running continuously, and someone may put together a memorial for classmates who have died. We have not hired a photographer to take a class photo. If you want to organize it, be our guest. In 2016, the photographer cost $500.

How does the registration work? We'd like you to pre-register so we can let the restaurants know what to plan for.  We want to keep things as simple and uncomplicated as possible. One of our classmates has graciously donated $1500(!) to subsidize our reunion, so we are able to keep the cost remarkably low.

Pre-registration will be $50 per person until July 25. Name tags will be printed for those who pre-register. If your spouse/significant other wants to attend, that's another $50. That's whether you are there for one day or two days. (It's still a bargain and just too much work to do by the day.)   Any money we have left over will go to the FCHS Alumni Association. If you wait to pay for the reunion until after July 25th, the cost will be $60 per person. Please send a check (made out to John Stern, Treasurer) with your registration by July 25th - that will be easier and less expensive for everyone. We are not equipped to process credit cards, so your payment will be by check or cash only, or Zelle ([email protected]).

There is no registration form to complete, so when you send your check, please include your full name (i.e., Mary Bowers Vigen), your spouse/guest/significant other's name, your address, email, and phone number. Mail to: John Stern, 1458 S River RD S, Fargo, ND 58103. On the Notes line, write Central-North Reunion.

Please forward this email to anyone on your contact list from the Class of 1966. We are missing many names and want the information available to all of our grads.

You will be grateful that you attended this reunion - it will be a chance to reconnect with our old classmates, to recall and celebrate our years in high school and our lives since then.

Class of '66 Reunion Committee:  Bruce Anderson, Randy Wimmer, Jane Arman Williams, Mary Bowers Vigen, Greg Winjum, John Sandager, John Stern, and Jim Murray
