Jared attended Fargo South High School and graduated in 2003. He was active in drama, soccer, and hockey. Jared attended Minneapolis Community and Technical College where he studied screenwriting and film production. After graduating from college Jared shot several short films in Fargo and Minneapolis. He then began focusing on his performance career in Chicago. Jared became a sanctioned improv performer at I.O, formerly Improv Olympic.
Jared and long time friend J.J. Gordon spent five summers in the small community of Rutland, North Dakota, starting in 2002, to work with Entertainment Unlimited, a children's theater program. The duo held auditions in the small town and had an amazing turnout. "Nilles and Gordon pulled reclusive kids into the program, having them work on the set or perform other duties to get them involved." (The Forum) Jared integrated his love for filmmaking into the theater program by having kids shoot short films around town and incorporating them into the plot of the play.
Sadly, Jared passed way, Monday March 19, 2012. Jared's love for theater and filmmaking will be missed, as well as his joy for teaching his craft to others. Jared's oldest sister, Rachel Nilles-Cremer states, "Jared will always be remembered for his loving spirit, ambition, and good nature. He is dearly loved and will be missed by many."
